Hundreds of collectors, gallerists, curators, artists and other art aficionados attended the two day opening on March 18th & 19th.
The START residence, where the exhibition is held, is a historic Ottoman mansion overlooking the Jaffa port. Entrance from 8 Hatzedef street, Jaffa. The exhibition remains opens until 23rd April 2009, Sun-Thurs 10:00-13:00.
The principal hall is devoted to a selection of works by START’s 2008 artists: Yonathan Levy, Avi Nevo, Angelika Sher, Luzy Shtilman, Yonatan Ullman and Artur Yakobov. The remainder of the ground floor exposes select works by START’s collaborating artists, including a group of works by Israel’s leading Urban artists. The top two floors showcase highlights from Serge Tiroche’s private collection of Contemporary Israeli Art, including works by Michal Rovner, Adi Nes, Yehudit Sasportas, Sigalit Landau and Philip Rantzer, alongside classics such as Avigdor Stematsky, Lea Nikel, Raffi Lavie, Yair Garbuz, Uri Lifshitz and Zvi Mairovich.
