“Seeking myself in others as a body of work is about trying to find happiness, within other people and later realizing that it is has always been within. It is stemming from hope, love and happiness- all occurring within myself. Painting from a live model has evolved to be my preference, there is energy that surfaces and influences my creative practice when I work with a model, they are also the skeleton of my figures, I have always been insecure about proportion, which was always emphasized as important in varsity. It feels also that I am always trying to get that right while loosening its importance,” says Khoza.
